About the teacher

Hello. I'm Sophia Mavridi and I’ve been an English teacher for more than 10 years teaching young learners, teenagers and adults. I’m also a post-graduate student at the University of Manchester, UK, studying Educational Technology & TESOL. I share a great passion for teaching and feel really blessed to have a job I love so much. I’m particularly interested in Educational Technology and Educational Psychology but also in anything that could help me make my teaching more enjoyable for my learners. I believe in student-centred instruction and try to encourage my students to be actively involved in the classroom. My favourite quote about teaching?

"Ideal teachers are those who use themselves as bridges over which they invite their students to cross, then having facilitated their crossing, joyfully collapse, encouraging them to create bridges of their own." -- Nikos Kazantzakis.
